THE TEST

ReceptIVFity is a new test that gives you a better insight into the chances of success of IVF or ICSI treatment. This test is performed prior to an IVF or ICSI treatment and examines whether the conditions in the womb are right for an embryo to implant.

Scientific research has demonstrated that the composition of bacteria in the vagina (the vaginal microbiome) plays an important role in the chances of achieving a successful pregnancy using fertility treatments such as IVF or ICSI. The ratios between the different types of bacteria create a profile that generates a low, medium or high ReceptIVFity score.

The vaginal microbiome is subject to change. The sooner after the test, the more reliable the result. The score is validated up to 2 months after the administration of the test. It is therefore important to discuss with your fertility doctor in advance when it is best to take the ReceptIVFity test, so that you can also discuss the results with him / her and adjust the timing of the embryo transfer accordingly.

HOW DOES THE TEST WORK?

Before you start the IVF or ICSI treatment, you will collect some mucus from the vagina using a special cotton swab from the test pack. After collecting the sample, you will return it to our laboratory. There, the bacterial DNA collected from this sample will be used to determine your microbiome profile. You can retrieve your result online within 7 working days. You can download the analysis report and discuss the result with your treating physician.

NOTE: This test is anonymous. In the package you’ll find a unique code, you can use this later to request your results. Keep the code safe! Without it you can not retrieve the result of your test.
